Larry Daley spent fifteen years as both an Art Director and Editor at DC Comics Entertainment, helping to develop DC’s library of characters for Warner Bros. Studios and licensed products divisions. His work with characters like BATMAN and SUPERMAN has appeared in several feature films & television series, as well as toys, collectibles, video games, licensed publishing, theme parks, social awareness initiatives, corporate branding and global promotions. His illustrative work has also been featured in DC Comics’ BIG BOOK OF THUGS anthology, published by Paradox Press.
Larry was lucky enough to begin his career as a personal assistant to filmmaker TIM BURTON during the making of A NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. Larry also spent time as an editorial assistant at both Marvel Comics and Topps Trading Cards, as well as a production assistant for Douglas Trumbull Studios art department. Larry also co-produced the Emmy-nominated documentary, MAYOR OF THE WEST SIDE, which shares the coming-of-age story of Mark Puddington, a teenager with multiple disabilities who becomes a local celebrity in his New York City neighborhood.
Following DC Comics, Larry joined Innovative Toys as creative director to launch their debut brand, The ScareMeNots – a line of bedtime monsters that help children face their fears of the dark. The kids product line earned several awards for “best new product,” as well as formal interest from Hasbro Toys. Today, Larry dedicates his efforts to illustrating full-time at his studio near the New Hampshire seacoast.
